The Bonnie Project is a group of volunteers serving the Town of Pe Ell and
the surrounding areas. Our mission is to do 1) community projects that
beautify our area and to do 2) residential projects that help those in need –
single parents, elderly, disabled, injured and recovering, etc. We would
love to have you join our fun group!
The purpose is to serve following the example of Bonnie Montgomery, long
time resident of Pe Ell who was an amazing inspiration to many for her
kindness, hard work and constantly serving others and the Town of Pe Ell.
After retirement from the Pe Ell Schools she was voted on the Town
Council, she read to children at the school, she mowed 5 people’s lawns
regularly, painted the yellow stripes on the town sidewalks, helped with the
Senior banquet, served in maintenance at New Harvest church, and
volunteered any time there was a need anywhere in our community. Many
who knew her could add dozens of examples of how served.
In addition to keeping her legacy going through Bonnie Projects, we also
fundraise for the Be A Bonnie Scholarship which goes to a Senior who
serves our community constantly through community service.
You can read more about our inspiration in an article on the Lewis Talk
website called The Legacy of a Small-Town Woman with a Big Heart in Pe
Ell: A Tribute to Bonnie Montgomery.
